New Scoop -- Any Suggestions

Hey all you pros ! Any suggestions on wich is the best scoop?
I hunt fresh and Salt water. I am not verry happy with mine, its a open top scoop and pull tabs and light stuff flaotw off as i pull it up for the shake.
Nothing like spending 10 mins trying to get a pull tab. I didnt know any better when i first bought it.
I have been looking at the Babbs scoops, RTG, and Nutall. If i miss spelled sorry.

I don't know if he still has any But Ralph at Sunray has a real nice scoop that he has made and has a slight bend in the pole for easier scooping. As I remember it was priced similarly to the babbs and others.I've had mine for 7-8yrs now and still looks like the day I got it other than I added a 4' piece of heavey wall PVC pipe and a T handle to make it longer and haven't had much trouble with tabs other than theres way to manny out there.:bouncy:

I have a Reilly's scoop and it is good quality. If you are going to be a daily or quite often user you may want to get a Stainless Steel Scoop for durability and long life compared to aluminum. I just ordered a new scoop from Travis Nuttall @ Nuttall Enterprises and from everyone I talk to that owns one the quality is excellent and Travis will stand behind it 100%. If your going to be hunting where there are a lot of rocks or shells the Diamond Head from Travis will give you the best bite. Any of the brands you mentioned are good scoops, it is just a matter of how much you want to pay.

Thanks for all the input i ended up ordering a SS scoop from RTG today I ordered a monster scoop with a added handle.
I am sure it will improve my time on retreving targets. I am really pumped about it i should have it next week.
Now all i have to do i sbuild my new excall shaft and i will have it made.

Thanks.... Chad

The shipping costs for something that long are unreal. A friend returned a two-piece fishing rod and it cost almost as much for shipping as it would have to trash it and get a new rod. If you check the major hardware stores and especially farm supply stores, you can usually walk in a get a replacement handle for almost anything. When you get home you might have to do a little shaping and drill a hole or two but most can handle that. I went to an Ace store and had a guy look up a replacement fiberglass handle for a post hole digger. Often they don't stock all the things they can get. Cost me $14 delivered to the store. Sanded it a bit, slid it into the scoop, drilled a couple of holes, and secured it with stainless locknuts. Ain't gonna come loose during a hunt and when I need to replace, or want to replace, the handle, I don't care where it was used, you'll be able to undo the fasteners easily...jim

If i remember i paid $65 for half way round the world for the diamondhead and 2 shafts and also grab handle, also extra packing so i was quite happy
