new pinpointer

Well I have no menu button. I will try it by pushing one of the three others but not sure how that would affect it.
Thanks for the tip if it works.

Hi,
In the pamphlet it says that it has an overload indicator.
Does anyone know what that feature does/is good for ??

I would say that the OL feature is for large targets that may fool you.(POP CAN)
The ratchet feature also sounds very interesting. The ratchet feature should narrow down those broad target areas that sometimes occur. Can't wait to see a demonstration!

How about ground balancing and tracking, the Garrat pinpointer absolutely drives me crazy in wet mineralized ground. I have to shut it down and then start it back up hoping that when I start it I dont have the tip too close to the target and and have to start the whole process over again.

According to the guys that actually tested the pinpointer it blows all the others away. Thats good enough for me, I will have one asap.

Look's like a winner to me . I like all the new features . I'm anxious to see what kind of low battery warning it has . I get a kick out of the one on the Garrett's Propointer ( it reminds me of a European Police siren ). Garrett's Propointer has done well by me and they pretty much set the standard for the newer breed handhelds . It will be interesting to see if they come up with something new also . :detecting:

One of the features on the "New Product Announcement" is Rugged, Waterproof Design.

It actually reads "weatherproof design" But it doesn't look hard to waterproof it just like you can on the Propointer. Something else I noticed is the light looks like it's a lot larger than the PP'r.

Your right Kenny,

As I understand it....Whites could have made it totally waterproof but...........then it might be hard for some people to hear the buzzer. So, with that in mind....they did the next best thing. They made it as about as weatherproof as you can get without "actually" being totally certified waterproof.

Thanks for catching that, khouse. My tired old eyes lied to me. You are correct the word on the description sheet is weatherproof.
