New Nakta Makro announcements

DigDog

Well-known member
So Dilek announced the other day the price of the Legend is going back up
after the end of this month, be interesting to see what they go back up to but the real interesting thing is the new carbon fiber mid shaft and arm rest they are making along with new bigger coil.Suppose to be a discounted rate for current legend users and make it lighter.
How much lighter can it possibly be from 3lbs
I can’t see it making it that much lighter but say its something like 2.7 lbs is it really going to make a difference worth paying for. Be interesting how it all balances.
I think we have pretty much maxed out how light a detector can be for a while.
The battery and coil are the two heaviest components be a while before those two advance alot in technology.
I would like to see another model detector rather than tweaking the legend anymore. Its great the way it is.

Hey DigD
I appreciate the tweeks to the Legend (M3, sweet!). There are a handful of new mid range units just coming out. What would you like to see that is not already there?

Personally if Nokta offers us that have already purchased our Legends the new carbon fiber middle shaft and the New LG30 coil at a discounted price I will pick up the LG30 and two of the carbon fiber mid shafts, in my opinion the lighter they can make the Legend the better it will be to swing, what I am hoping is they make that new carbon fiber mid shaft in the longer version only, which would work for everyone it adds 4 inches of length to the shaft I purchased the longer middle shaft for my legend and it gave it a better overall feel for me, so again I am hoping they make the new carbon fiber mid shaft in the longer version shaft, I am north of 6ft 5 inches tall and we need the longer mid shaft otherwise you have to extend the shafts to long, also again the longer mid shaft that Nokta will be offering, if they make that one only in carbon fiber it would work for everyone, in my opinion

Well after this last update i think the legend is fine the way it is, I can’t see really much more they can do. What i was saying is that i don’t think changing the arm rest or mid shaft was all that necessary.
As for a new detector Nokta Makro is the only one that doesn’t have a dedicated beach detector.
There is a reason the Excall II is still selling today after two decades as one of the best beach and dive detectors.
I guess you have to use one to understand.
Maybe not much of a market for dive detectors but beach detectors sell.
Yes you can take a all purpose coin, jewelry, beach, gold detector to the beach but its not the same as a beach detector. Just like you can take it to gold fields and prospect but they have a better dedicated gold detector why not a better dedicated beach detector.

New legend owner ( not even user yet due to weather) not sure I’d get the coil, shaft , cuff upgrade package - will see. If so I’m pretty sure the LG30, LG24 and LG15 would cover all scenarios ( with the LG24 on mostly) probably never use the 11” again.

I only use the lg15, and now lg24. The only time I would put the 11” back on is at the beach. If they only sold the carbon fiber shaft and new cuff at a really good price i might consider i. Depends really on the price and weight difference. I can’t imagine it being any more than 6-8oz.lighter so whatever that is worth.
As for the lg30 coil not intended personally.
I would much rather see 3 different versions of the legend offered like the simplex or better a whole new detector.
A SMF only would be nice and a beach version of it. Maybe even a full size PI rather than the little hand held that ypu have to bend down to use.
That’s actually where a new shaft design could be better implemented an extension of the little PI machine to where you can walk upright and use it.
Just my thoughts what do I know

The new carbon fiber middle shaft upgrade will remove some weight from the current Legends, and in my opinion will give the Legend a better over all feel just like it did on the Simplex Plus, I will be picking up the new carbon fiber mid shaft and arm cuff for both my Legends, because of the reason I stated will also most likely pick up the LG30 also to remove even more weight because the LG28 stock coil is quite a bit heavier than the LG30

Oldkoot----How much heavier is the LG28 than the LG30?

The reduced weight and elliptical shape of the LG30- plus the lighter mid-shaft appeal to me more than the 11” round, so if the price is good I’ll be interested for sure. Don’t know why they are introducing a new arm cuff I’d have to see what the improvement is. The original one seems just fine to me.

LG15 - 381g - 13.43 oz

Thank you Sir.
