hi guys bought a vaquero in jan as an upgrade to my old bounty hunter . snows melting here so I took her outside sunday on some bare spots to get a feel for the ground balancing and guess what? made a few passes and got a rock solid beep ,discriminated target to silver, copper range and she still sung! so i got my shovel and dug my first target(1970 copper penny) around 5 inches out of the still frozen ground. I was impressed. Hope it's a good omen of happy
digging days to come!

Welcome to forum. You're going to love the Vaquero. If you haven't already, you need to get a 5.75 concentric coil for those really trashy areas.

tabman

You bet tabman! It's on my " must have " list for sure. Been Checking old town maps and securing permission to detects older homesteads between my icefishing this winter.Rare ring to put some time on my vaquero for sure.

I know you asked Hatpin this, but for what it's worth, I've been finding buckshot at 5-6 inches. Thank goodness for pinpointers.

Welcome on man,

Welcome to the most enthusiastic Forum on the site! We all contribute, we all learn! Looking forward to your future posts!

I'm using a pistol gripped zircon stud finder until I get the "scratch" for a garrett pinpointed. Gets about a half inch depth and runs around 30.00 bucks

Thanks mike! Watching your YouTube video on ground balancing and super tuning certainly shortened my learning curve...

First, forgot to tell you WELCOME!
2nd, I would like to have a Garrett. I use a Harbor Freight for $13. Works great, I like it because it pretty much has a depth of 1 1/2-2 inches. If it doesn't pick up, I know I have to dig a little deeper. Works for me. Happy hunting.

Welcome. I bought a Vaquero about a year ago and gave my Bounty Hunter Tracker IV to my daughter when she hunts with me. She has done well with the BH and I like the V.

Welcome coinscratch,

The people on this forum are very helpful with lots of sound advice and support:tesoro: It is the busiest & liveliest Tesoro forum I've seen:jump:around the net, just a great place to hang out

Thanks homebre...my wife's cousins 11 yr old son absolutely loves the hobby. I plan on giving him my old tracker as his first detector. It also gives me an excuse to buy a backup tesoro sometime down the road !

Thanks hombre...you're right this is a great forum!Did some research on this forum, youtube, and other as well before I chose buying the vaquero. I like that tesoro makes great quality detectors, the lifetime warranty, and their customer service. I also like beep and dig rather than numbers on a screen and how light and balanced the vaquero is. I also should mention that 53 silvers videos on the vaquero helped in making my decision. but hey,im sure glad I joined this forum you all seem like a great group of guys!
