DigDog what you do not seem to understand the ground I detect in is some of the hardest ground anyone could ever detect in, the ground minerals are such that no VLF can see much deeper than 5 inches, so no the legend has been no better than the gold detector VLF's i have, the one detector I had that would see deeper on the ground I am on it was a TDI, I have since sold in preparation to purchase the new Axiom, which is a
PI (Pulse Induction) detector, I have also just recently purchased the Garret 24K which I have yet too try out other then in my front yard, It also seems to see through the minerals a little better then my other VLF's, the 24K is also a VLF but geared more for gold detection it is a single frequency 48 KHz gold detector, I will say the Legend does run better in the gold mode multi mode or single frequency 20 or 40 KHz, the one detector that has actually surprised me on the ground I detect in is the Xterra 705 which is a multi frequency detector of sorts but it will only run one frequency at a time by changing the coils the 705 runs 3 KHz, 7.5 KHz, and 18.75 KHz you change frequency by changing the coil on the 705 I run the 705 with the 6x10 inch 18.75 KHz that detector actually runs quite well on the ground I detect the 705 is actually my favorite detector of all the detectors I have used and one of the most under rated detector ever produced
