Hey, that's my ring Mike!! Mine is just like that; that's a James Avery correct? Mine is the silver and gold but they make a white/yellow gold as well.
 
Approx. 40 percent of the gold rings lost are thin womens rings and some with nice stones...They come in low foil to high nickle.....so keep this in mind when setting up your unit as this area lots of less junk to mimic the gold rings as in the tabs region lots of tabs and perhaps 50 percent of the gold rings lost....I know some areas are zinc penny heaven but do remember perhaps 10 percent of those honker large college and school rings are in this area and for the gold alone can bring hundreds of dollars.
You have the tones and notches and now its up to you to dig or not and remember in most cases gold rings weigh a lot more than the junk and tabs that mimic them so expect the gold rings to hit harder and sound different to an educated ear...Been there done that and personally concentrate on the foil-nickle area....but its your call and do experiement with some gold rings and the junk that mimics them...and a little luck or gut feeling certainly helps also.....
