New E trac + Pure luck = Two Silver Dollars!

Finally I get out to hunt Saturday for 4 hours with my New E Trac...I am basically out just seeing how she responds and giving all the time I spent on the Emulator a chance to work on the real machine and see how it reacts in one of my haunts. I wont even begin to pretend like I know what I am doing as I have had 5 hours tops on my new E, But I just have to show you what I found (anyone with a machine probably would of found this given they are brave enough to be where I was). Check it!

The Coin purse was deep and I basically went completely off sound as I am used to the Ex II sounds and liked the quality of the tone...I was just seeing what would make that sound, you know kind of just getting a feel for where the numbers and cursor will hit but not knowing for sure yet if it is what you think. Well I got myself a Big Surprise! Especially after last hunt I found a GOLD RING, two Walker half's and the hunt before that I found a barber half ( with the EX) ..I am definitely SYKED out now, and very excited to get the new E figured out.

I have lots of experience and great machines but I will always say my greatest tool is PURE LUCK! take that over skill any day!

I'll take that sort of luck any day... Congrats on a super find... Not for the million dollar question, what are the dates and mint marks?

HH Robert

Thanks Montana and Bert,
Dates are 1901 and 1888. They aren't worth much as collectibles just a heck of alot of fun to find. Too bad they come out so beat up in this area but I have lots of fun finding other stuff too.

Hey Nebtrac, thanks for lookin,
Did you ever find out if you could ground balance right on top of some iron and see if the machine worked any better that way? Just wondering cause one of my sites is covered in iron and I need tips for mineralized ground and iron...lots of iron ( my sugested sens at this site is 7). I remember you asking that and I never saw an answer to your question.
good luck to you,

Josh,
Thanks for checkin my dollars out!

A few years back hunting season had just started here in Idaho. There was father going to take his boy who had just received his first hunting licenses out on opening day. The knew of a good place to go and had a great day!!!! They boy got his first elk. A record setting in Boone and Crockett. While cleaning the elk the boy happened to look up and see a real nice buck deer crossing the clearing up ahead of them. Having a deer tag he threw up his gun and dropped the buck which after retrieving it found is was just under Boone and Crockett records. Most detectorests will hunt a life time and not find one silver dollar. The price of your e trac might be worth many times what you paid for it if it comes with that luck. Would you consider trading straight across for my etrac and 3 coils? Congrat's of your great start and I hope your starting streak doesn't change!

Want cleaned pics of coins! Super finds brother! Your best bet is to find clean ground in the area "All metal" and noise cancel"

Congrats on the big silvers!

Shovelhead,

When you get bored finding all that great stuff by yourself, drop me an IM.
