New detectors from Whites and Minelab.

Idaho-Marke

New member
Are we expecting any from Fisher? I've got the itch for a new MD ESPECIALLY since my F-75 won't break down and fit in an airline carry on bag :( (Hint hint FT)

The good news however, is instead of flying all over the place as I normally do, I bought a motor home instead and will travel within the USA and Canada so I don't have to sell my F-75 because it won't fit in an airline carry on bag.

The bad news is I've got the itch and if we are expecting something from Fisher soon I'll wait to see the new offering before jumping in and buying another brands hi end machine because IT WILL break down and fit in an airline carry on bag. (Hint hint FT).

Any one know if a new Fisher MD is expected soon?

Thx.

Marke

From what I've seen, I have not yet been sold on the new Whites and Minelab. Of late, every so often, a comment gets dropped that leads me to think Fisher maybe having something new coming out in the near feature. And then again, I might be just wishfull thinking. I used to fly a lot as well and like you, Marke, I now drive and much perfer it. HH jim tn

I have heard the same rumor when it comes to a updated and modified F75. I have heard whispers on a couple of other forums about it.

You would think that if Fisher is coming out with something new it would be now...the snow is melting and it is time to get back out there and detect! With whites new coloring book and at the price it will take a lot of hunters that have other machines and buying that machine to convince me how good it is. A lot of hunters didn't understand the F75 and its speed and it chatter. And I am sure the same will go for whites. So I think it will be awhile maybe next year before we see a new fisher. How long did it take whites to come out with this new machine like well over six years. And I don't think Fisher is going to come out with something so fancy the whites has to cost a lot of fix with the short warranty. I think Fisher is going to give us a combo of a CZ and F75 with more depth...I use mono tone and look at my VDI and dig that is the best way the F75 works for me in Calif. It just eats iron and pulls out the relics. If whites can do that then there is a new detector in town and in time it will find its place but everyone is just air testing and that is great on paper but not when you are hunting in the dirt.

Seemingly spring would be a good time to bring out a new detector model, but if I remember correctly, didn't the F 75 hit the market in the fall? I could envision, no pun intended, a new updated F 75 under the Christmas tree in 09. :please: As for the use of tones, I still use a lot of 3h, 4 and 4h as well as monotone. For me, amount of disc., age of the site, how much trash and type of trash and the kind of hunting I am doiing, relic or coinshooting, are all determining factors. HH jim tn

The F70 and the F5 seems like there needs to be something there to bridge the gap. You never know ?

NO IT WLL BE A HIGH END UNIT THE NEXT STEP ABOVE THE F75 AND NEW FLAGSHIP THEN WE WILL HAVE NOTHING NEW FOR A FEW YEARS JUST A GUESS

hi there ..
feel I kind of like the crackling sounds in my phones when I throttle up the F......I am not in for a change yet...
-------If I feel OK driving a Ferrari why should I go for something else :clapping:
happy fishing

Virtual reality ultrasound vision detection technology.

Seeing a target and knowing it is a pull tab and not a gold ring.

It is coming......sooner than you think.

How did you sell that part to your other half? Quote..The good news however, is instead of flying all over the place as I normally do, I bought a motor home instead and will travel within the USA and Canada so I don't have to sell my F-75 because it won't fit in an airline carry on bag.

You are the man talking her into the camper so you didn't have to sell the F-75:rofl:

I almost think it is too early for Fisher to come out with something new? I mean it took whites like a 100 years to come out with the vision after the DFX. Can Fisher really come out with something that will wow us into having to have it? I think we are still a year off. There is too much interest with the new vision I think they would want to wait for the excitement to slow down. But then again maybe they are saying lets cut into the whites sales..I would rather wait and see Fisher really do something so different and that really works rather then have a new F75...The F75 is so great but not perfect but what is these days. It is up to the operator to understand the machine and what it can do in the right hands. I have had my F75 for two years and I am still learning from it. Now I have to take all I have learned and hone it into my hunting. And mono tone as boring as one tone is. has let me hunt it a different way and find a lot more history. Time will tell and it gives us a lot of time to read more about the vision. I would like to see hard core relic hunters take it for a spin...

I would love to see Fisher play hard ball and release a new top of the line unit that can really do something that no other fisher has done before and eat into whites glory but I don't think these companies work that way.

We need to see a new technology developed. For the last 25 years or so, all of these companies have concentrated on VLF circuits. The Compass Coin Scanner from the 80's, will match up of with most detectors today, and still deeper than many. Some has touted PI machines as the future, but I seriosly doubt it. It takes too much of a power supply, to get optimum depth. I am sure something will pop up in the next two years. How many times will we, the buyers, change detectors for just some more bells and whistles?

I have no doubt that we will have much farther advanced metal detectors that basically tell us what is in the ground. However, I think it would be boring to say okay for 100% certainty - there's a coin, there's a gold ring, there's an indian head. Isn't the fun part analyzing the signals and using our SKILL to determine whether to dig or not?

One thing for sure, all the good sites will be hunted out real quick if everyone had a detector that saw what you were digging. I like to think that I am someone digging history, more of an archaeologist. I don't want any site to be cleaned out that easy.
