nice res on that clip!!can i ask ya something though seriously??
what do people steal at a hardware store?what was the most outragous thing you caught people stealing?
i have been in sub-contract work for 20 years and was always taught you dont sh#t where you eat.hardware stores keep me in action and i would never risk loosing a vendor over stealing a 12 dollar fixture or faster.
you must have some good stories.;)

... Highest theft items are tools. From a tiny 1/4" drive socket to big power tools and everything in between. Electrical breakers, stailess steel fasterners, you name it, someone will steal it.

I've only caught one commercial charge account customer stealing. He was (is) a drunk and was pretty tanked when I caught him. Stole a marine radio slotted dash mount ... a $3.00 item. Go figure?

Most theft is from old geezers, kids, and Latino's. Fortunately we don't have a huge problem but we are always trying to find ways of reducing it. In the past I've suspected a couple of sales employees of product theft, couldn't prove it though. Eventually got rid of them. A few sticky finger register operators have gone on to find career advancement elsewhere too.

As far as clothing during summer ... that's almost year around here. Today and tomorrow will get up into the 80's. Sometimes we get some bikini tops but usually folks are dressed for taking care of a repair or DIY project. Shorts and T's are the norm. Nothing too exciting.
