New 505 w/headphone problem

Recently got a 505 and when i plugged in my older KillerBees , there was dead silence. I then plugged them into my home stereo receiver and they worked. Then i plugged my $20 el-cheapo headphones into the 505 and they worked perfectly. Is there an ohm mismatch going on here or what? The el-cheapos sound good but don't fit as tightly around the ears as my KillerBees.Any suggestions ? The KillerBees I have are the drab green ones with only 1 volume control and no other knobs or switches if that helps.

Are you sure there isn't a toggle switch on your Killer B's that switches them from stereo mode to mono?

Hi Ramairnut. Are you sure the jack is firmly pushed all the way in?.....I had the exact same thing happen to me with my XT70. It just needed to be pushed in about 1mm more than I realised. hope this helps.

No toggle switch at all. I did make sure the plug was all the way in.Should there be a toggle switch? I bought these a few months back from a member on this forum. He had just gotten them back from being serviced. They appear to have new speakers and a new power coil cord. When plugged into my home stereo they sound good,a bit tinny, but very clear.

Okay, I called John at B&B distributors[TH Pro] and he said this set of KillerBee headphones were custom made to fit the previous owners MD and that for $15 + shipping , he could correct my problem. Guess I could have checked there first. Thanks Digger for bringing up the toggle switch. I bought these rather fast when they appeared for sale on this site. I got a great deal on them so another $15-20 won't hurt. Guess I will use the el-cheapo stereo headphones for now plus the weather here has been rather crappy to get out MDing anyway.

Maybe the problem is the length of the plug shaft is too short.
I have a cheap set that work on my Ace but not my Xterra , the only differrence between these and my other h/phones (which do work) is a slightly shorter plug
