NEL selling AT Pro coils

New member
NEL is selling larger coils for the ATP. The largest is a 15" x 17" called the AT Pro "BIG". You can view them on the NEL site and on Ebay.

Have only heard one person using the BIG, and he says he found a CW Bullet at 19 inches.

I may have to order one myself.

I know a fella that has got one waiting on results from him as well Kinda interested in the weight of it and how long you can swing it !! I know using thestock cil was tough after about three hours of slow swinging

The nel site says the weight for the 15x17DD and 15 concentric is 999.99gr. or 2.2lbs.

BarryL your stock 8.5 X 11 weighs 1.06 lbs
My 15" NEL Attack weighs 1.66 lbs
That NEL Big weighs 2.22 lbs

That's a lot to swing.

I know guys twice my size who can't swing the stock coil
for 3 hours on the beach.

Makes my Back hurt! Think I will stick with my 5x8 and stock coil

That's pretty incredible depth. I probably would have gave up on the target after digging more than a foot.

Doesn't seem like a coil I'd like to swing all the time. But at select locations may be a valuable tool.

The NEL sharpshooter Ia slightly larger and a bit more expensive. I don't believe the performance would be much, if any, greater than the Garrett coil.

I chose the 15' Attack ( 1.66 Lbs. ) over the 15" X 17" BIG ( 2.22 Lbs ) because
1) The obvious weight savings AND
2) The sweet spot on both coils is exactly the same.

A 15" footprint is going to be hard enough to swing and keep stable. I got it for a
very clean and large salt water beach in my area. Hope ? to use it on some of the
dried out wet slope ? Might not be possible ? Dry sand use should be no problem.

My 15" Attack came damaged by the postman and I am awaiting its replacement
from the Ukraine. They ship them in shallow empty boxes ( no padding ).
$35.25 to send it back . . . talk about that later.

HH To ALL
Jim

Are they replacing it for free, minus the shipping costs? I'd be interested to know if they begin packing them better too. I had planned to order one in the future.

Oh yea. I remember them now.
I thought we were not supposed to mention them
on the forum, or was it were not supposed to
put their website in out posts? I don't remember
which now. Why do they have such a bad
reputation?

Not aware they have a bad reputation but if what you say is the case I suspect it has to do with them not being a sponsor here. I have seen that before but there is no reason I see why we can't talk about them here. I decided to order the Attack coil for my Pro and awaiting deliver now for it. Now some people say they are not much better than stock coils but I have seen tests on other forums where the claims of increased depth for the Pro are pretty impressive.

grumpysrb - The cost to ship back hasn't been discussed yet. I was in a hurry to
get it back to them so they could replace it ASAP. I am pressed for time.
Depth ? Who knows ? I doubt that I will get 16" - 18" AirTesting my coinage set.
But . . . if I do ? I will report it either way.

8 X 5 DD = *9" - 11" ish
8.5 X 11 DD = *12" - 14" ish
15" Attack DD = ??? 16" - 18" ish ??? I really don't think so but . . . I would certainly
welcome a surprise . . . I am overdue.

I haven't been on the forums very long, but haven't heard anyone talking bad about NEL. Did I miss something?

NEL's website is a bit confusing. They show 6 coils for the ATP 2 named the Attack, and they are the same size and weight, but $15 difference in price.

One has a longer cable than the normal length. Seems someone wanted a longer one and they have that listed now. Must have been a giant with an extended machine.
