NEEDING HELP WITH PURCHASING FIRST DETECTOR!

Thanks for the advice and at this time the Ace is what I'm looking at getting.

Now just scrapping the change to get one.

This is one of those things that the wife doesn't understand and I'm trying to work my way into it.

Hey Randy good luck on which ever detector you choose. I only got mine about 2 months ago. I ended up with a Minelab X-Terra 70. I am having a blast.

Get the detector that fits your needs, practice with it, learn it, and you will find a bunch, Beale.
 
Well since u live in area that has gold if u can save up get white mxt it truly can be a good all around detector. it has prospecting mod, coin mod, relic mod. U can use it for beachs,old farms, and hunting for gold nuggets and is simple to use. I did see u did not want spend 500+ but u can find a local metal detector store and they let u try them out.

Some times it worth saving happy hunting!
 
best thing to do try find local metal detector store and see if they let u try some of them out. metal detecting can be a blast and with white u get good return on your'e money if u don't like the hubby becuase the warranty can be tranfer to another owner! which allways will give better price on reselling it! but best thing to do find a local story and the try one out.

look down read post i left about prospecting and whites mxt. really u can find one with warranty if u look on ebay for cheaper price then a new one.

You can go a check it out. I would be willing to due a swap for something new for something new. But I'd have to do this before someone bid on it.

I paid $350 dollars for it and the only thing I did was take it out of the shipping box.
 
I started with a Ace 250. I recently upgraded to a DFX, however, I will be keeping my Ace 250 for my wife and grandsons. I also will take it along for a backup. I don't think you can go wrong with a 250. They will outperform other makes that cost a little more than the 250. Get a good set of headphones, that could make the difference of being successful and not finding anything. Good luck and good hunting.
