Need Miami Beach Info Quick!

I just found out I'll be going to Miami Beach later tonight.. I can pack my detector if there will be a good place to detect as I will be there all day Saturday before leaving Sunday morning.

The hotel address is:

Marriott Biscayne Bay
1633 North Bayshore Dr
Miami Beach, FL


I know the hotel is not far from the water, but I have no idea if there is a good beach nearby to detect or whether it's legal or not to do so. Any beach that's worth trying must be within reasonable walking distance of the above hotel.

Sorry for the request for quick replies, but my flight leaves in about four hours and I need to decide whether to drag my gear along.

Any beach in Miami is a good one SouthBeach is the most common known. Will be there myself tomorrow morning. Good luck

Well, I just used Google Earth and it looks like about 3 miles from the hotel to South Beach - 3 miles in 90+ degrees before starting detecting, then a 90 degree beach, then 3 miles back to the hotel.......
