Found in Western Ukraine along Old Roman, Viking, trade route. Nothing on back. Metal very fragile and lightpic of the backside and any context on this find? Appears to me it looks like some kind of Greek motif. The bird maybe a Pheonix?
That's a good guess, there looks to be a skull under the eagle. Nothing else from that era, all ancient from Roman times, will post more items I found laterWell, given the location have another guess, the bird resembles a WW2 German eagle. That type of design was adopted in the mid 30s by the Wehrmacht, doesn't look too old, so best guess its some kind of metal motif design, busted up and lost between 1941-43 when the German Army was fighting in/around that area. Any WW2 relics you found nearby?
