This was dug today at 14" and is 8" across and made of cast iron it has a star design in the middle and hearts all around it the star and the hearts are about 2.5 inches deep I'm thinking some type of baking dish but I just don't know
 
The design would lead me to think it's of the CW period. If it came from a CW camp, I'd say you made a great find. Is there a name embossed (raised letters) or numbers anywhere on your piece?

Cleaned it up and can't find any markings. It came from the same site as the carved bullets only it was much deeper than any of the other items I found. Most of the bullets were 6" to 8" the pan was 14" I will keep cleaning it slowly if any markings come up I'll let you know.
