Need help finding a coil brake to stop flopping.

Hope someone can steer me on finding one of these. A tool to halt coil flop, especially while wading. I got a buddy has one on his Beach Hunter. Used to see them advertised but can't find one now. So pictured is a crude one I made from a plastic coffee can lid. And its doing ok . Thanks for any help.

The ones I have seen are kind of genetic/universal fit.
I actually made one for Sand Shark and Equinox out of the material that is used to make office names (a type of plastic).
One connection point is the coil bolt and the other is a plastic pipe clamp around the shaft…. Fairly easy to make and works great.
Only thing to keep in mind is that while wading, if will cause drag so keep that in mind.

White's made a brace, but of course that is no longer available. I looked for an old catalog picture and did not find one. There were some posts where a strip of hard plastic was heated just enough to form it in a shape to hold the edge of the coil. I'll see if I can put together a little sketch. The lower bent part would catch the coil and the upper part would be tied with zip ties to the shaft. Something like this:

I have seen that design too…there would be very little drag in the water too!

Make your own, using plexiglass. Use a plastic cable clamp to hold the bracket to the lower rod.

This is the one that can really do the job. Are they still being sold? I made one out of a plastic coffee can lid , use a zip tie on the top. I'm a lot better with it than without.

What worked for me on my 10 inch coil on my tiger shark was to hand tighten the coil mounting bolt. Then add a drop of super glue to the wing nut. It stopped the nut from backing off. Hope it works for you.
