Need advice on REALLY trashy areas

MrGee

New member
There is an old park in the area where the county fair was held years ago and there has been numerous other events held there. I checked it out breifly and it is so trashy with pull tabe, bits of foil, etc there I couldn't find a spot where there wasnt' 2 or three targets under the coil. I'm not excited about digging that many pull tabs. Is the sniper coil going to help with a spot like this? It's a really old park and I know there is a lot of stuff there, but I have to confess that I am intimidated by the scope of this search. Help me Wan Kenobe.

I need to decide if my next purchase should be a sniper coil or a pro pointer. Can't afford both at once, sad to say. You guys steered me in the right direction with the Ace 250. It's a killer with coins (Nothing very old yet) and it does a fair job with rings. Seems to be a terror for Hot Wheels too. Cant' hardly go a playground wihtout finding one of them. Thanks for you thoughts.

mrgee, the small sniper coil will definately help you in the trashy park, but you are still going to have to contend with the trash. the sniper coil will help isolate the good targets from the trash and i'm sure you will find coins with the small coil. as for which to buy next, the sniper coil or the pro pointer, i would say get the pro pointer first. it really is handy for finding targets in the hole or the plug. i just got a pro pointer recently and it really speeds up your target recovery. i think it would be hard to go hunting without the pro pointer now. good luck with your search in the old park...........roger

The Sniper should solve your problem and help you wade through the trash. If it's really thick you can raise the coil up a bit and narrow the search cone. Don't worry about losing depth as the Sniper will get seven inches or so anyway. If there's that much junk there then there should be coins. Keep us posted. Good luck.

That's the reason I've posted so much lately on the sniper coil. I've tripled my finds and it's mainly because I'm able to search these areas you're experiencing. I'm usually at sensitivity 3 in these places but I've gone as low as 2 whenever I hit an area loaded with screwcaps so I won't hit the ones at 6-7". Even then,I get one at 5" at 2. If the area's just loaded mostly with tabs, I have programmed a customs mode so I can go to it immediately. It''s nothing more that the coins mode with the foil icon turned on. I've found 4 gold rings in the foil area this way and this mode allows me 3 chances at a ring-nickel, foil, and square tab. I'm telling everyone- this coil completely transfroms the Ace.
