My Vista X is getting tired of sitting around.

Finally, have some time to take the X out for a spin this coming weekend. just the spot to try. Somewhere around 50 acres of farm land was being sold, or now has been sold. As no crops were planted this year. A street with sewage line put right thru the property. An old house many many moons stood on the property. Have to get in there before the weeds turn from burnt brown stubble to green prickery fields. Have been eyeing this spot for years.
Just rained today, so the ground shouldn't be hard as a rock this weekend. Not sure if I will find anything good but, you never know. I will pretend that not to be in Canada but, overseas in Europe where treasure troves were buried.....

Finally, the Vista X came out of the closet this year. Had a chance to go detecting at a farm field before the land is turned into a subdivision of houses or an industrial park.
No crops were planted this year, the weeds were starting to sprout ..But, without rain over the past two weeks, everything turned brown. Luckily rain came down over two days, that dampened the hard dry soil. Took advantage of the results today before the farm field becomes overgrown.
Because the field is very large, the larger coil was attached to the X. Normally, for my type of hunting, the smaller coils are used. It was impressive to use. It was the right choice of coil size to use today. Covered a lot of ground at a quicker pace.
An abundance of hot rocks were everywhere that could drive anyone crazy. With a bit of ground balance tuning and change of settings every now and then made it bearable to detect. The hit rocks produced a audio response that was easy to learn. There was no need to dig those target responses.
After 4 hours of detecting digging tiny iron and other junk, managed to find some goodies to make the hunt interesting.
Found a 1842 Bank of Montreal (Canada) 1/2 penny bank token.Two buttons, a lock, key, small brass bell, some brass belt buckles, tiny .22 short bullet casing.
It was a fun morning, sunny and very breezy which kept the air temperature at a comfortable level.

Nice Crotal bell too. The big Demon coil does a very good job. Glad you got out. Maybe you will get a chance to go back.
