My trek to the pool ''n" the woods

The thing that bug the most is wood ticks. I was in the woods in Mo. and they were all over me. I have been in a lot of places with wood ticks. I don't get freaked out, I just don't like them.

I don't really care for any of those multilegged
varmits. I don't like spiders, scorpions, ticks,
any of that mess. Scorpions can be a pain cuz they
often like to hide in shoes, etc. I remember as a
little kid at my grandmothers in rural OK. Scorpions
would crawl up the walls at night every once in a while.
We'd whack em into submission with a newspaper. I hate
ticks cuz usually you don't find them until they have
been sucking on you for a good while. IE: crotch area,
rear end, etc, etc.. You'll find them when you take a
shower, or eventually notice it. Chiggers can be a pain
too. They are kind of like micro ticks, and they can
itch like crazy. We'd always get into them as kids when
out in the boonies. They would give us calamine <sp?>
lotion to put on them.

Don't forget about those blood sucking leeches also. Man I hated those things as a kid and never got over it, ugghhhh! I got one under my jean shorts one time and that ain't a place for any blood sucking creature.

Yeah I grew up in Southern Illinois on the banks of the Mississippi and heard all the stories. Now I'm really in bigfoot country. People out here have them for pets.

You know they have a scorpion in Mexico that grows to over eight inches long and if he pops you your arse belongs to Jesus.

Bill

Yeah when I lived in Arizona you had to shake your shoes out evry morning before you put them on in case a scorpion or tarantula curled up overnight in there to get warm. And if you were camping and sleeping in a bag on the ground you had to be aware of those plus rattlers who would crawl in the bag with you to get warm.

Yeah we used to go skinny dipping and come out of the water covered with those buggers. Now doctors use them to save amputated limbs, fingers, etc. I used to hate picking those critters off.

Bill

I've never once had a leech on me. Lucky I guess.
I once was swimming in a river/lake where someone
else found one after they got home. But me, never
have had one on me. I'm not really complaining. :/
