Ski, I have a great idea, how about you send me the Outlaw to test and you do all the farm work? I sure would hate for one or the other to be neglected!
I'd never! Actually, it's a good thing Tesoro did not send me one b/c my test result would read like this: "Well, it sure looks good standing in the corner of the spare bedroom; a real conversation piece. I knock the dust off of it every few weeks or so and chase the dust bunnies out from amongst the coils and coil wire. I removed the 9v battery supplied from Tesoro for fear of leakage last month; I discovered it had passed it's expiration date last year. I wish to thank Tesoro for the opportunity to test the old Outlaw. I can't wait for them to send me their latest machine for me to preserve. After all this time, they will have to really dig deep to engineer a new detector that holds up the wall in the spare bedroom as well as the Outlaw has done for me!"
I really need to get out and detect if you haven't noticed; it's been awhile.
You done a fine job on the field test and answered many questions that I had about it!! I believe Tesoro couldn't have picked a nicer guy to have done it!! I know you have helped me out a ton on my various Tesoro detectors I've owned in the past!! I even have your number saved in my cell phone in case I am in the field and have a question!!! Thanks Buddy, Later Morgan
Habanero your humor is spot on, funny as heck, ya my review to would be boring kinda in the same category of changing rubber washers in water hoses, HH hunting with hank.com
Steve, I enjoyed reading your review of the Outlaw, you did a great job and Tesoro couldn't have picked a better person to review the detector. Maybe you can do it again in another 8 years.....lol.
Although the results were the same as the 8" coil, I found deeper coins using the 12"x10" out in an actual hunt.
Forgot to mention that I ground balanced the detector with the 8" coil, then after air testing the coins with the 8" coil I tested the other coils without re-ground balancing.
