My second time out with the Legend.

I haven't used it hardly at all. I love my simplex and I also have an original deus that I like to take out now and then, but a friend of mine told me this morning about how he ended up buying a legend from the forum here today. He got me thinking I need to get my butt in gear and take my Legend out too. I got my Legend and gear together and took off. I'm not very familiar with it at all but I know how to turn it one and pair my headphones. Armed with those two skills I drove to a old city park that is a real trash can for can slaw, pull tabs, bottle caps etc. After digging several pieces of can slaw, and a few rusty pieces of angle iron, I started thinking about how unhappy I was with the Legend so far....I left the grass and went over to the volleyball sand box. I wasn't getting many targets there but my first good target read about 10 inches deep.....after diggin half way to china....(bout 20 inches) I determined the target was a large piece of iron and abandoned the dig. My second target was about 12 inches down and was ringing up a solid 22 on the Legend. I dug about 14 inches down and confirmed I had dug up the target. I confirmed the target was out of the hole with the coil and started looking for it with my Pinpointer. After a minute of probing I found what I believe is a women's small gold ring with a nice stone of some kind on it. I am sure I took a picture of the hold It came from but I don't see it in my gallery...interesting.? Anyway it was a real shock and treat since I was really getting frustrated with my choice to bring the Legend with me on this hunt, but I am really glad I did. I gave me the boost in confidence in the unit that I needed after digging junk for 40 minutes.

The ring has a mark/stamp inside but my eyes are not good enough anymore to see it clearly. I'll run it up to out local jeweler tomorrow for an ID.

Thanks for reading.

I noticed when you blow up the picture of the ring in the alligator clip, you can see part of the mark on the right side of the band....???

I looked around a bit for your ring... It reminded me of an Avon ring.... But no Dice.... Yours Is unique .... I came close with an engagement ring... The ring makers seem to set sapphire or pink rubies in a vine shaped ring quite a bit.... It will be interesting to hear what your jeweler says.... Great Find

I went to the local jeweler this morning and found out from the lady that helped me that the ring was 14K and had a popular Lindy star sapphire in it. She said they were very popular "back in the day" She also said it was a older piece and could be as much as 40 years old. I found a page from Etsy that featured them.

The jeweler also cleaned the ring up a bit for me and these are two new pics.

Older ring, back in the day? Listen ya whippersnapper…….

Trust your Legend, it’s capable of finding a lot of stuff others simply scan over.
