Friday I asked a question concerning the all metal mode on the Outlaw and had received several helpful post. Checked the forum today and the post was deleted. Anyone no why post are deleted? It was not a negative post. By the way, the Outlaw did a great job at an old house place today...very happy with it.

It got ugly after you left . It was nothing you did . It needed deleting .Glad to hear you did well at the old house with your Outlaw . Are you going to post about it ? I know I would like to hear about your hunt .

Thanks for clearing that up dirt doctor. I will go through my finds tomorrow and make a post. The Outlaw was amazing on the small cal. rim fire cartridges I found..

the mods here seem to be a bit heavy handed. I am new here but saw this first hand, what a shame that it cant be handled more appropriately, like deleting the offensive posts rather than the whole topic. Seems a bit counterproductive but I guess it's their rules

If people dont like Tesoros, than why do they have to come here and mess everything up for the rest of us. It is bad when you can not even ask a question... KEN ,, IND

That's a good question, if tesoros are so terrible why they so worried? Hmmmmmmm

I posted my Compadre for sale last night, and it got deleted. Not sure what I did wrong? I think if a post gets deleted a PM by the moderator stating the infraction would be appropriate, and appreciated.

Where did you post it? I know over in the 'classified' ads that you can only sell one detector every 90 days. My ad was deleted and I was fit to be tied until I found out that I had broken a rule. It would have been nice if I had gotten a PM stating the reason. It got ugly there for awhile. Now that I know the rule, everything is good.:)

Your post may not have been bad at all, but it attracted a few clowns to post not so nice reply's. I didn't want to leave it up, as the wise arse answers you would continue to get. Because of that it was deleted.

Overall; The Tesoro forum has the most amount of trouble than any of our other forums. This forum tends to attract a lot of drive by shooters. Can't really understand why. Well we have taken steps to help eliminate the problem. I removed 2 wise arses from posting on the Tesoro forum yesterday. I think you will discover a lot of the problems will disappear. They always had to add a flip remark to a lot of post.

As far as sending a note to those who's post were removed. We have about 36,000 registered posters here at Finds, and only 3 administrative personal that can delete post. Sorry, just don't have the time. We would be spending the whole day writing notes.

Would I be wrong in saying "censorship" is a power trip in which the censor's will find their hands muddied in the process? LET IT BE! Mr. Bill delete your post should-not call people clowns & wise arse's?

The moderators are not heavy handed...they just enforce the rules. And they don't have time to pick and choose through hundreds of replies/posts in a thread, to weed out some of the nonsense.

If I was a moderator I would do the same thing...delete the entire thread. Saves time and it's a heck of a lot easier. It's not counterproductive at all.

Unless you want to volunteer to be a moderator and spend all day trying to figure out the good posts from the garbage, and clean up all the threads. That will get old very quickly.

Bottom line is, people need to grow up. When a person makes a post on a specific thread asking for information, they should get that information, whether it's good or constructive criticism. What they should not get is B.S. about their machine, why did they buy it, should have gotten this machine instead, etc.

Selling the compadre?????? Why?

Sounds like More Mods is needed if there is only 3? So a couple more mouse clicks is to much work? Sorry, just don't get it.

As a newcomer to this site, I already have a bad taste in my mouth. I had an incident where one of my posts was "accidentally" deleted because a mod said there was a glitch and it appeared in the wrong section suddenly after 5 days  I only found out after I got a PM telling me not to post it in the classifieds?(it was posted in Todays Finds), then the other day I added a link to my signature, not realizing it violated the rules(was browsing amazon and found an interesting detector, so I inquired about it by posting the link to it on Amazon, since it was a handy picture) and was approached via email as well as forum rudely by another mod. As a new member and potential customer, I was highly dissapointed in the way I was treated in both situations. These seem like great forums otherwise, but this is why I made my "heavy handed" statement.

Most forums I utilize are pretty laid back and friendly, I have yet to feel the "love" here. I do appreciate the helpful people here though. I would like to participate more but it seems more effort than fun, so far...

I know I said I would not being posting again but it looks like the admin. is doing a great job on controlling things here. I really enjoy posting talking and sharing without constantlly reading neg and smart remarks. And I hope I can if I can figure out how to get my pictures up loaded. theroer I am in total agreement lets enjoy this hobby that we all love and be nice.

Could not disagree more, deleting the whole thread punishes everyone, deleting the the troublemakers posts sends a msg. to the troublemaker. With that line of thought, might as well just delete the whole Tesoro Forum.

I completely agree. I find it counter productive to delete information that could be beneficial to others because of 1 or 2 posts by trouble makers. This site is funded by sponsors, most people here are customers or potential customers who pay these sponsors and ultimately you. As in any business, the customers should be treated with respect if the business is to be successful.

Just my 2 cents

Most seasoned hunters on the forum take the time to PM people when they have questions and have a one on one discussion off line, via PM's. Heck, some of us actually send our phone numbers and TALK to people.

So if you are really serious about having discussions regarding tips and helpful info, the guys n gals that will go out of their way to help, will PM the individual in a lot of cases.

Now, the people who end up spewing garbage, will have their posts deleted...and what better message for ALL, is to delete the entire darn thing.

I think the moderators have had enough of the garbage.
