My phrase to keep kids away and it always works.:super:

I will not ever forget the time I was hunting out in the lake dragging my sifter on afloat ,a car pulled up mom with 4 kids ,the kids got out and made a b-line for me.Up to that point I had the beach to my self ,the little rug rats surrounded me wanting to see what I had found. I tried to be nice, then one garbed my float and filliped it over and duped out a hour and a half of finds. Now if kids come up I just tell them about the snakes I just saw or show them all of the fishing lures and hooks I have found, they do not hang around much after that.

I actually like the kids to come around. Only a few do however. When they do I explain what it is and what it does and then let them put the headphones on and throw something in the sand and let them swing the machine if they are big enough. They get a kick out of it. I once had a little girl come over when I had just hit a target. I let her listen to it and then told her to dig down for it. Out pops a quarter. She was thrilled as she walked off with it. I told her she found it so it's hers. Then her brother came over. Luckily I had another quarter in my pocket so buried it and let him find it. Needless to say, he walked off with that one. Kids can really cost you money.
