You know, people talk about their oldest finds on this forum all the time.

People show things from the 1700's and even older.

I always felt kind of left out because this part of Arkie Land was not settled
by white people until on in the 1800's.

It occured to me that I have found some really old things lost by people in Arkie Land.

See that two tone, white and black arrow head. I was told that, that is a Dalton Point.
9,000 to 10,000 years old. (correct me if that's wrong).

These are my oldest finds in Arkie Land. What's yours?

HH,

Tabdog, Now those are some really amazing finds. I hope they are in a nice frame and hanging on a wall.

Last year was a good one for weird copper coins how some of them ended up where I found them still has me scratching my head. The oldest is a Maravedis coin from Spain in mid 1800,s it is about the size of a quarter the next is 1897 Queen Victoria cent the next is a 1906 Chinese 10 CASH coin and the last is a 1938 English George penny. My oldest US coins are a 1907 v nickel nice condition. Oldest silver coin is a 1924 mercury dime of which I have found two of. Oldest wheat penny is a 1912 I have yet to find a Indian head or a standing Liberty or a silver dollar but those are still waiting for me out there some where.

ohh i dont know i understand clinton is an antique!

here is my collection, I found all of these and a bunch more broken ones and other pieces. but these are the best of them.

That's a great collection.

I think looking for points is almost as much fun as metal detecting.

I think I'll make a trip to a field I been thinking about.

HH,

Where bouts are you in Arkie land. I knew exactly what you were talking about. I am an Arkie too and just a little north of you if you live in Searcy County.

ya, right now is one of the best times where I live to look, the fields are worked up and some rain has been on them to wash to flint off. I love it too. my dad started me out when I was a kid, then it spread to taking my buddies looking. you can spend hours and only find some chips and flakes. or you can not even me looking and taking a walk with your family and walk right over one and say to your wife: hey what do you think that is right there. She got a kick out of that, I took here a bunch of times looking and she found 1 nice one and a decent broken one. I like to stop before I pick one up and wonder who the last person to touch this piece of flint was and how long ago it was before human hands touched it, before I pick it up.
