My new probe..

I use a heavy screwdriver in the UK when the ground is very stony or heavy flint but this in on arable land. Sometimes I use it when the hole gets deep (t2) then its useful to find the deep target. But be careful not to damage your target
 
could always put some electrical tape on the end of screwdriver?

if it was me i would just take what i could get with the screwdriver /probe and smile while i was doing it, don't get a chance like that every day should be loaded with clad if nobody else has done it, just go have fun i recon :clapping:
 
I got one of these at Harbor freight.
Filed the sharp edges down to blunt corners.
Very strong. Less than 4 bucks.
 
Look like a gasket scraper.
