I'm getting the D2I found it very intuitive. I don't want to sound like a broken record but it is good advice,,,,,,,,pick one of the presets and stick with it for a while. Focus on the audio. The best thing I ever did was to put the controller in my pocket. Not sure if you are getting the D1 or D2. Doesn't matter. Both are great machines. If you are getting a D2 and have been using a D1, just be aware that they are 2 very different machines.
I got the 11 but I will probably end up with the 9 too, I was reading they might be coming out with a 9 hf coilYou didn’t mention the coil size you ordered, but the D2-9” is ultra light and swings like dream. Enjoy!
For mucho bucks---yeah.-----Probably be a 5X10 hf ( or there abouts).I got the 11 but I will probably end up with the 9 too, I was reading they might be coming out with a 9 hf coil

Thanks I might get back with you if I run into any troubleCongrats! I have the nine and the 11 x 13. I’ve been using the 11 x 13 almost exclusively. With the Tekkna program it even does pretty well in dense iron.
You have a number of different sound options, so pick the one you like.
Working around dense brush, I have managed to knock the remote off a couple times. So I do keep it attached to the shaft with the lanyard so it doesn’t go anywhere. I tend to switch back-and-forth between programs for interrogating targets, and also change settings, depending on changing ground, so I do tend to keep the remote attached to the rod where I can access it easily.
Coming from a White’s machine I am used to the coil attachment in the back. I keep the thumb nut just tight enough to keep the coil from slipping, but allowing me to change the angle by ground pressing.
Thanks, I just went outside with it and I feel like I'll be able to figure it outI went from an Etrac to the D2. I had no issues and it didn’t feel like much of a “learning curve” for me. Definitely start with the preset programs and get to know what the detector is telling you. Once that is accomplished then you can start fiddling with the settings. My go to in the beginning was General than later on Sensitive. Not sure what version your detector will have upon arrival. I stayed with .071 for a very long time and late last summer updated to 1.10. I believe 2.0 is the most current update and that came out for use with the Xtreme hunter coil. Guess I could be missing something with that update but currently content with how my detector is running. Best to you, enjoy, and have patience. Become one with it, and that takes time.
