Not sure if it fits the talk here, but all my 9 volt brands are different. Duracell seem to be the smallest and when putting them in to my detectors I've used other brand or my bandido, I need a piece of folded pare on top of the battery to make a connection.
On my new compadre, the prongs stick out further as I'm sure the others used to. Can't bend the prongs, so piece of paper it is!! Lol

The two for a buck Sunbeam heavy duty 9v at Dollar Tree are longer, try them.
I'll give them a try.
I use the Lowe's ones and they are phenomenal.
How do the sunbeams fair?

Great for me. I usually hunt for 2-4 hours. I remove the batteries since some say cheap batteries are bad about leaking. Ive never had any issues. For 50c each? C'mon! lol

Dollar Tree only place Ive seen them. And you can get 4 AA alkaline Sunbeam for a buck also. Harbor Freight wants like a buck each for their cheap 9v batteries. Yuk

Vaquero loves dead batteries. I hunt it and the Cibola down to two beeps, about 7v. No loss in performance.

That is cheap!! I pay about $1 a piece (when I bought the 12 pack) from Lowes and they last really long. Had one in my pinpointer since the second day I had it back in March (duracell that was literally inside the pinpointer when I bought it must have been almost dead). Still going. I'm very conservative with it and shut it off alot.

The 9 volt may be nicer to use, but by my math, 8 AA's are a better deal, cost per watt hour (all things equal, using dollar general bargain batteries). Splitting hairs perhaps, as cheap as batteries can be purchased nowadays.

I've carried a Garrett that uses 8 AAs too many times, too heavy in my old age. Getting tired of the 4 AAs in my Fishers.

One reason I love the Vaquero, a deep monster using a single 9v.

And the Tejon with 8 AAs? Fuggetaboutit.....

The Tejon is so well balanced, it's still easy to swing for hours. MicroMax units are super-light though; great to swing all day. Sort of a toss up as far as battery cost; the 8 AA's last longer than the 9v batteries, I think.

In my UK version of the Vaquero the Trient11 Extreme which has the Tejon battery box behind the arm cup i use 8 Energizer batteries these last a really long time, another bonus of the Tejon box at the top,the normal battery compartment is not use for the single 9v battery,so i carry a new battery in that space for my Garrett Probe  so mine use the 8 AA batteries but carries my spare 9volt just incase the probe runs out.

Of course. There is no right or wrong way. The more ideas thrown out there, the better!
