My new Bandido II uMax does it again

JEF

troll
Took my new Badido II uMax out again today to a school sports field. Found a small silver ring and a man's 10K gold class ring. I set the discrimination at 4 and dug everything that gave a good signal. I am really liking this machine.

Nice!!! Great hunt there!!

Well ,that machine is going to pay for itself fast . I bet Tesoros pay for themselves faster than most other units , especially when they run with one nine volt battery . My other popular detector doesnt even pay for the batteries it goes through .

Not sure if it's a national chain, but Lowe's has a brand of battery there that are great priced.
12.97 for a 12 pack!! Also first time I've seen a battery that comes with a rubber cap on the positive terminal to stop shorts in your pockets or wherever.
That's what I paid when I was there last at least.
One has been in my at pro pointer since April 1st give or take.

Stoof , those are what I use . Those rubber caps are a great idea too . I had a dead duracel because it drained itself inside the cavas bag I had it in .

I'll try those. Ive been using pill bottles to keep them separate.

Now if I can only find a rechargeable 9v that isnt bigger than a alkaline 9v.

I bot some of those, but never used them cause online reviews said many of them leaked. Not good for our beloved Tesoros.

I switched to the Eveready Gold alkalines from Dollar General, $2.5 apiece and last long time.

But if you want cheap, Dollar General has a $1 nine volt.

I found that exact silver ring before. It's a ring worn by Mormons ant the initials stand for Choose the Right which is a hymn if you didnt already know. Nice finds.

Haha no leaks so far for me, but i remove my batteries after each use.

Not me, I use the 2 for a dollar Sunbeams "heavy duty" lol from Dollar Tree. Tesoros will run on down to less than 7v no problem.

Just that some alkalines are too tight and the rechargeables I've tried, you can't shut the door, feels like you're going to break it.

Yeah I've noticed they're all different sizes. That's weird and I thought they'd be standard.

Thanks for the information on the "CTR" ring. I just thought that it was someones initials. After your post, I did a search and found that exact same ring on a site that sells Mormon jewelry. I have been using some Lithium-Ion rechargable batteries that I purchased on ebay. The brand is EBL, and they are 600 mAh. They came with a charger. They last a long time before they have to be recharged.

That's what I have, been using the EBL280s for years in the pinpointer. I ordered some of the 600s, both the 600s and the 280s are just too big to force the door on my Tesoros. How does yours fit? Mine are too long top to bottom and too thick.

Mine seem to fit just fine. I have them in my Bandido II umax, my Vaquero, and my Outlaw with no problems. You have to push them in a little bit when closing the battery lid. They hold a charge for a long time.

Thank you sir.

Worst I can do is break the door I guess, Rusty help!

The 8.4v lithiums are great, and I noticed the Tesoros run fine even on their last leg below 7v.

I came across a blurb the other day the Compadres might struggle with low battery, I haven't checked yet.

I think the EBLs will be ok. Got out the Cibola today, it feels the loosest of the group. If I help it in the right place the door doesnt seem to be in a bind.

My Catholic buddy at work says the CTR stand for Catholics Totally Rule !

Nice job on the pair of rings, btw. Little Bandido does a nice job.

Update

The EBL 600ma are lithium ion. These are the ones that are oversized.

I have some EBL 280ma that are nimh, they fit fine.

The two batteries look identical at a glance.

I assumed they were all lithium ion and all were too large, the nimh 280s fit just fine.

Not sure if it fits the talk here, but all my 9 volt brands are different. Duracell seem to be the smallest and when putting them in to my detectors I've used other brand or my bandido, I need a piece of folded pare on top of the battery to make a connection.
On my new compadre, the prongs stick out further as I'm sure the others used to. Can't bend the prongs, so piece of paper it is!! Lol

The two for a buck Sunbeam heavy duty 9v at Dollar Tree are longer, try them.
