Nice weather, a few good finds and some "wind in your sails"
makes any day of detecting a good day John. There is a lot
of summer and good days to come....and lots of treasure to
be found. Congrats on a good hunt. Gold Nuggets :wiggle:

 Looks like an okay session - not the big prize but some pleasurable time on the beach, something a bit quirky and useful in the mini-tripod ( how often beach finds come into that category) and some time keeping in training...and you did better than I. Our tides are at neaps now and as many of them and the nearest are pebble and shingle banks running down to sand, nothing of the sand is available with such high low tides. Only 5 days or so to go until some really low low tides, though. So I've been doing research about the local sea defences as I've seen work going on on some beaches not far away. These beaches have just been replenished with sand and gravel taken from the sea bed out in the English Channel and barged and pumped ashore. The older layers of beach right up to the sea wall are now covered in 5 to 6 feet of fresh, find-free material and new groynes made of huge lumps of rock have been installed. It'll be interesting to see what happens when the sea gets to work on it all, unfortunately, I guess all this stuff will gradually get drawn out and down the beaches and will cover all the old stuff down in the wet sand too, probably for a good many years. The sea truly does some amazing things, though, so I will watch those beaches closely, but will probably have to target others for hunting.
