My eTRAC is unleashed - wireless headphones

Hey here is my pics and a little video hope u hear it. I was so happy there was no delay. Etrac in pinpoint mode.

Rapoo H3070 on etrac no delay: http://youtu.be/QfQwy_ufTEs

1 cable charges them both

Yeah Issom, these Rapoos are great. I even bought a backup set.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, Issom's video is worth at least a million words. No perceivable delay.

I found that upping the volume a little more at the detector then lowering it at the headphone equalizes all the tones a little better.

Every great once in a while they lose sync for a second or so. Could be the xmitter needs to be relocated or something. Right now my xmitter is located on the left arm cuff and i suspect my junk pouch full of metal could momentarily interfere with the signal during a sweep. During a sweep, the xmitter comes within an inch of my junk pouch. Never had this when my xmitter was located right at the phone jack as shown in Issoms pic. Not really a problem as it happens once or twice during a detecting session and only lasts a second.

Surprised Minelab doesn't offer something like this as an accesory but knowing Minelab their price would be $600 instead of $60.:spin:

I had occasional blanking issues myself but found if I make sure to put the receiver on the headset on the same side as my swinging arm it stopped doing it. I am assuming the receiver is in the side of the headset that has the on/off volume control. My deduction was it couldn't transmit through all the stainless steel loops in my chest :)

Ironsight its your Issom. I wanted to change my name on here and they only way to do so is to resign up. So hit me up on here if you want to get out.

Sorry to bump an older thread, but I have these for my eTrac and they blank out halfway through each swing. I was wondering if there was a trick to the volume settings of the machine, or the headset? I also should try switching the "receiver" over to my right ear as mentioned in a previous post. Any suggestions, or did I get a bad pair?

Thanks, Brian P.

I've had mine go quiet at times! I was in a city park when it happened.... I wander if they had some
interference as I don't have that problem in low EMI places like in the country or where I can run the etrac
in 30 manual....I did switch my volume switch side to my right ear too..Thinking that might help....
I'm almost sure it's EMI....Try Them out in the country and see what happens

Do you have the Rapoos or the TDKs?
This discussion is for the Rapoos.

The Rapoos have worked flawlessly even in high EMI areas with no audio cutouts that i can remember. In fact i used them when detecting directly under high voltage towers/lines with no issues.

You also might have a defective set.
The backup set i ordered did cut out just about every sweep and sometimes all together for a few seconds. Compared to my original set, they were definitely defective.
I returned them for a new set which works as great as my first set.

Before you return them try mounting the transmitter in different areas and positions and make sure they're fully charged. My transmitter is vertically attached to the left arm cuff towards the front of the cuff with velcro adhesive strips, The transmitter on/off button facing the front and the earphone jack facing the rear. The headset controls at the right ear. This positioning works perfect with both of my sets.

FYI with the Rapoos, since i have two sets i found out the transmitters and earphones of one set are NOT compatible with the other set. In other words the transmitter of set 1 will not link up to the earphone of set 2. I suspect this matched pairing of the transmitter/headset was done purposely so one set does not interfere with another set when both sets are being used in close proximity.
