My etrac and at pro comparison, suprised coming from a minelab guy

Greetings! I'm rather a newbie when it comes to metal detecting, but I decided I wanted to get into the hobby. I had a older Whites hand me down a number of years ago, but never took to it. I recently decided to go all the way and buy an E-trac after looking at all the top (priced anyway) detectors from all of the major Sellers. I have had it for about 3 weeks and find it rather complicated. I also a week before my purchased joined a local club as I felt it would be a good thing. I also bought some chances for a hunt and won an AT Pro. I will tell you that IMHO, that so far I have found 10 times as much with the AT Pro, as the E-trac. I know that I still have a long ways to go to get comfortable with the E-Trac, and I'm looking forward to learning the in's and out's, but I'm not gonna knock the AT Pro, by no means.

appologies for taking so long to get back to you, work commitments and lack of sleep . I noticed that you were in coins mode on the video... when checking an iffy target with AT Pro go to pro mode " zero" and use no discrimination is what is recommended to check iffy targets ..often get a clearer signal. Also if you suspect it is a high conductor you can put it in manual ground balance and adjust it manually down about 10 points negative to check it, or vise versa for a suspected lower conductive target, ... rather push a button than dig a hole if in tough dirt

Thanks for the reply. I will do what you suggest and see if it has a better signal. I took it out again today and found out that if it is not ground balanced it will really throw off the pinpointing too.

by the way .....I am in no way even trying to suggest that the AT PRO comes into comparrison with the ETRAC .... ETRAC IS KING...in the pecking, order we all try to get as close to that as we can
