My day at the dentist; Written by my wife to her sister and mother...

But I had some pretty good pain medicine that I've only needed to take once. I am pretty sore and tender around the upper lip and nose area, but it doesn't really hurt as much as I thought it would today. And yes, it was done at the Veterans Administration, and yes, they do have a lot of dentists doing their residency there. They also have experienced dentists assisting them, if need be. Even though all I went through sounds pretty horrible, there was really no pain, or feeling, of anything they were doing with bone files, gum cutting, sutures, etc. The lying there for over 2 hours with my head 30% lower than my body was the worst part. But you know what the best thing is, although they may not be dentists extraordinaire, it's free! And I'll guarantee you what, what I went through yesterday, would have cost a pretty penny at a private dentist.
