Ok, what i received was a new in box (old stock) 4 year old CTX3030.
It is indeed brand new. Got a great deal on it.
I had been studying Andy's CTX3030 book, this forum and CTX3030 videos for about 3 weeks.
Not too hard to learn coming from 3 years on the Equinox 800.
Took it out today with a coin program loaded. Went to very, very trashy park I have hunted 6 years with my AT Pro and Nox 800.
I was amazed at the quiet hunt. It ID each clad coin I found without a hitch. Only time I dug something different was when a .22 bullet was found in the same hole as a coin.
Found a ladies gold plated pendant watch made in Switzerland.
This was quite a contrast when hunting this park with the 800. The 800 has a habit of really reporting on all the fine bits of metallic trash in the ground. Now all I have to do is get the coil over some ground with silver coins hiding away.
A lot of fine features on this machine that you don't find on mid level detectors. This detector seems to fit my trashy hunting environment better than the 800. Not knocking the 800, but I had a hard time with it even after 3 years.
And to think the CTX came out I believe around 2012.
Civil Relic hunting may be more difficult. But a simple program and pattern for 3 ringers and belt buckles will make me happy.
Love the Xchange2 program. Best way to program your modes.
