My 2nd hunt ever - I found a mans 18kt ring !!!!! Look at my finds from the Forest Preserve

Thanks Khouse, I will try one, we actually have a Harbor Freight Store not far from us. There is a great non-denominational Christian ministry called Khouse that I have learned a lot from as I grow in the Lord, they have a web-site called www.khouse.org Couldn't help to ask as I am a subscriber to their ministry and thought you may be a member. Thank you much for the scale link!

You know honesty, if it had an inscription with a name, or something specific on the ring (design) I would, but eventually somebody could guess its just a plain gold ring. I don't want to loose it, so I'm just gonna keep it. that might sound bad, but its mine now...:wiggle:

I found the ring at the bottom of the hill, I figured thats where the money would be, as when you get up off of your sled thats the most likely time that change will fall out of your pocket.

Come to think about it I lost my 18K wedding band about that size and weight on that same sledding hill. It was lost in the grass on or around the hill. It is a round ring. It would fit on one of my fingers like a ring. Would you mind sending it to me. It was given to me by my grandfather that received it from his grandfather. So you see it means a lot to me. I will reimbursed any postage. Thanks.

awesome find!!! and on your 2nd hunt too!

I went to hunt the sledding hill today but there was a million kids out, gonna have to check it when the snow melts :wiggle:

yea man, thats my new advise for everybody now... Check the sleeding hills, then double check them!!!

there is so many places I want to hunt at, I just don't have the time.....lol

man when the ground thaws, I am gonna be busy

Yea, my hill is loaded with coins, but I dont want to waist hours busting out change, Im almost positive no other metal detectors got to any of the parks around me, yesterday and todays finds were all surface finds, and neither days were the warmest this year. So if someone else checked, they have no idea on what they are doing. Hell, I dont even know what Im doing, ive been doing this for a total of 2 days!!! :detecting: So when it thaws im going to be a diggen fool!!!

Most of us dream of such finds....you just go out and find one. You should write a little story and send some of you photos to Garrett. The link is below:

Man that's 1/4 of an ounce of pure gold! The biggest gold coin I found was after last Easter. It had chocolate in it!

the wife and the lady at the paper put a full description of the silver ring in the paper after I told the wife to only put "Ring found at XXXX Park you describe." You know how wives listen to husbands if another woman says "Don't you want to give a description?" The found ads here only run 3 days and I got it changed.
When I found the ring I saw it on the surface partially covered by some dead grass, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, I stood there for a good min just looking at it. Then I picked it up.
You can't beat finding a gold ring without your detector. Wait until you find your first ring detecting. What a thrill to see gold pulled right out of the earth.

I was using my detector, but just surface hunting, the ground is still frozen. I got a beep for a penny. I didnt see anything so I pusshed the grass around with my shoe, thats when I saw it, I couldn't beleave my eyes!!!!!:yikes:

Well done treasurefiend,
A truly great score on only your second hunt.
I can feel your excitement, and that's only the start.
:clapping::clapping::clapping::beers:
