MXT to F75 ????

The F75 is the next generation of the MXT the guy that designed it is the same guy that designed the F75. It all depends on what you are looking for as far as proformance and how to program your machine. I had the MXT for a few months and the T2 I didn't like them at all but the F75 was a detector that I could understand with the tones and speed. I think white's wished they had a relic machine like the F75. It seems white's is not even trying to catch up. I had three white's machines and got rid of all of them even no I loved them they can't match the F75 in California ground.

The truth is, I've never been able to get the same depth with my MXT that people are talking about getting with the F75.

Are people claiming to get exceptional depth in your ground? I use an F75 and it really is a good machine but you may or may not get great depth in your ground. In other words... someone may be getting a few inches more depth somewhere else but if they came hunting with you they may not get as much, in your ground. I am in NW GA and I do not seem to get the exceptional depth that people talk about in most places I hunt but it's decent enough.

I have the SE too and would choose the F75 over the SE. They are both good but I find more with the F75.

Whatever detector you get is useless if you don't know how to use it or want to learn it, manuals, and advice are of a small advantage, but i tell you if you wanna get whomped detecting, go with some guy that knows his detector, and has been using it for a good while, these guys usually got only 1 detector, that's beat all to crap, but they know how to use it, while you are switching detectors, manuals, batteries, and trying to remember everybody's advice, he's out there got ever beep, squeak and all figured out while your'e pushing push tabs and trying to decipher your LCD= FACT, and all will admit it.
Only exceptions is gold and water detectors, specialty made thingies. SOOOOO THERE, There's not many detectors out there that are actually NO ACCOUNT, most are good and all got their little quirks, ya gotta learn em .
Like they say=it don't stink till ya stir it=Did i stir it?????:detecting:

you stirred it!..good for you!..truer words were NEVER spoken!..8 years!..same detector!..6000 pro xl!..i could build that detector if whitey wanted me too!
learn it!..know it!,and find the world!..no (b.s!)

My 2nd decent detector was a Garrett 350, when they first come out, one of the first, i'd had some junkers before, i used that thing for 6 yr , only detector i had, lordy i found a lot of stuff with it,, That's been a long time ago, many detectors under the bridge, (that thing is still workin bout 10 mi. from here), but whatever i get i always use nothing but it for a month before i make a decision, unless it is pure junk, i been sucked in by some hype, on a few, but if ya don't know it, or how to use it=dumpster it, go stamp collectin, or fly model planes, learn it=or lose it:detecting:
Had sevral Fishers, they allus been good for what they made for, NONE do it all:rant:

there are NO short cuts!..you must use ,and understand the instrument before you will be proficient with it!..there is NO such thing as a free lunch, unless of course
you enjoy constantly improving the bottom line of detector manufacturers every where!.even better!..if you are constantly buying detectors without learning them, you should also buy the companies stock at the same time so you can get some of your money back!..

what was it you didn't like about the t-2. its a lot better than my fisher 1270 for hunting. a lot lighter than my sovereign but has yet to find anything as deep as the sovereign. thanks.

So far I really like it. I only got to use it a few times before it froze up here in Missouri. Usually can detect a lot in the winter around this area but not so much this year. Also had the Flu, Eye Surgery, and a trip to Florida. Anyway, it is definitely deeper and more sensitive than the MXT and you cannot argue with the light weight. Only drawback I can see so far is if I encounter some type of quality control problem as I use it more in the spring. I fretted a lot before I changed also because the MXT is a solid, proven unit. Weigh the pro's vs con's and your pocketbook. Also if weight is a problem with swinging a machine all day, the F75 wins. Hope this helped a little. Randy

I have dropped my F75 many times and it keeps on ticking.

Most of the bum reviews say something like "just look at all the used F-75's flooding the market"

I just checked ebaY. Guess what? Zero. Zip. Nada.

Only F-75s listed are brand new EbayStore dealers.

If you the type that cranks all the knobs to MAX (well, cranks THE knob for various menus) the F-75 will not be the detector for you. It is sensitive and has to be adjusted to YOUR conditions. Maybe 60 is as high as you can get your sensitivity in a given spot. So be it. My home stereo sounds best with the volume knob at 2 on the 0 to 10 scale. It's plently loud so why get razz and distortion or damage the speakers with 9 and have to sit in the next room when 2 is plenty?

Thanks everyone for your input. I have ordered a F-75. Hopefully, it will arrive January 28th.
Regards, Jess
