On a baseball field the five foot between the outfield grass & the fence is the warning track. It lest the outfielder know when they are close to running into the fence. As for Hawaii no I live in Southern Utah. There are several volcano's in this are, lava is all over. There are several hills that are pumas cinder which are put through a crusher and used for landscaping. It amounts to small rocks.
