MX Sports,

I was looking at the reviews of the MX Sports from Whites, don't see much about it. Has anyone here used one? Was told it went deep on coins. I have used lots of detectors but never the MX Sports, I have been looking on the big board and only seen one for sale. Are they that good that no one wants to sell theirs? Would like to know if the MX Sports is as good as the MXT or better. Thanks flints

I have had a couple MX Sports and yes they were deep detectors in my Western PA soil, they are well built and feel very sturdy, I am not sure they work as well as an MXT in iron debris, they are a lot more customizable as far as settings go than the MXT, the major complaints I have heard is they are a bit heavy but I thought they weren't to bad. I wouldn't mind giving the MX Sport another go. Opinions may vary : )

Thanks Vito, If i find one i will have to check it out before i get it. What about the MX7? is it any better? I have the MXT and it is a very good detector, I was told the MX Sporte was deeper.

Hi. I can't say anything about the MX7/Sport because I never owned one.
What always stopped me from buying one was the fact that they had different coil connectors than the Eclipse series.
I am still convinced of the search performance and build quality of my MXT, and if I use the same coil size and type on the MXT, the search depth is the same as the other devices.
But that's me. Other users may feel different.
If you're going to buy a Sport have in mind the issues they had.

I had one when they first came out, bought it used. I can absolutely say it was deep and sensitive to small targets. Good luck!

H Digger, When you said it is deep about how deep in your dirt? I know everyone has different dirt,but maybe some one can give me a depth on say dimes. I have a Fisher CZ7, and MineLabs Whites Norka, seam all do about the same in my dirt here in Kentucky. I get dimes about 7" to 8" all the time. Is there any deyector that will do better? Thanks for help flintstone

I had an Mx sport , mx7 . Both very good detectors . I still have a couple of coils for the Mx sport and I believe the same coils were interchangeable with both machines . I still have an Mxt pro and a new m-6 with most of the coils for them . All where are excellent detectors . Depth in my area was about 7-9” . Like others mentioned , Mx sport very sensitive to small targets.

Thanks Albert, That is about what i get with my detectors . I am just trying to find something that will get down there and get deeper coins, So far the Anfibio dose the best on dimes in my dirt.

I guess my soil in some places I hunt is decent. I dug what I thought was an artillery shell using the Sport. It was well over 2 ft. But turned out to be just a piece of iron. I've dug small pieces of brass items at 7-8". The Nokta Anfbio I had found me a rosette at least 15". I currently use the Deus 2 and I've been finding civil war bullets at least 15" deep. I dug 2 Indian Head cents last week....5-7". Good luck hunting
