MX Sport three weeks in

Ran the 6/10 coil yesterday and really liked it in the trashed out park. Very snappy and deeper than I thought it would be even with salt track on. Found an old Storm King lighter about ten inches down. Rang as a quarter. This park is getting easier to read as well. If it's 72-73 copper on the surface then it's 99.9% a crushed soda can about six inches down. I still dig them anyways. Ha. Lots of beavertails and poptops but no gold yet. Oh well, it will show up. Also ordered the replacement coil cover from kellyco but it not even close to fitting. So I'll call them today.

Hi to you in Florida...

'You lucky dog' is all I can say! I left Fla to live elsewhere and would like to get back again on a more permanent move?

On the Pin Point issue you are experiencing: I have to say my experience is the complete reverse of yours.
I think the Pin Point aspect of the MXS is one of the 'better' features and can often go 'under reported' in Posts.

There IS a 'Double Clutch' aspect to it's operation: just Tap it and it engages or Hold it. Tap it again to off it.
The other thing I found is quite unusual when compared to several other models and I found it locates better if the coil isn't moved that much from or off the target.

I just watched a video from Garrett by Steve Howard on the Ace 300 and in the Pin Point section the coil is moved at least a coil's width away from where the target is.

Good Hunting in Florida...

The guys name from Garrett is Steve Moore ,not Howard.
