more stable, xp m16 or garrett carrett pinpointer

I have used both pin pointers, but because I’m using an XP deus 2 the XP pin pointer interfaces with the metal detector and the headphones I’m biased. You can listen to the pin pointer through your headphones. You’re also able to visually see the pin pointer settings on the XP deus 2 LED screen to program the pin pointer taking out some of the guess work.

Big reason I use the MI's is you just recharge the battery and I do like mine better that the garrett

IDK its been a long time since ive used a carrot i have the mi4 and mi6 4 for my manticore on one finds pouch
the mi6 on another because one its linked you have to deprogram it to use with a Minelab
so its easier just to have two setups for each detector.
The Nokta new yellow one is nice also.

I really like the Mi6 pin pointer, just wish I could turn the volume up on it when I use it as stand alone pin pointer. When I use it I love the fact that I can use it thru the headphones, not attracting attention to it beeping . But I do carry the Garrett carrot just in case the Mi6 pin pointer will not connect .

I've found the MI6 to be very stable in most types of ground, even on max sensitivity.

An exception is in very hot ground (red clay, for example). There, I've gotten a lot of falsing, but the Garrett (and other pinpointers, I assume) have the same problem in those conditions.

I've used both and IMO the MI6 is better than the Garrett because:
1) You can pair it with your XP machine to hear it in your headphones, and
2) You get a constant tone instead of a ratcheting one on the Garrett (perhaps a personal preference, but I find myself locating targets faster with the constant tone)

Stability on either one is just one retune button push away. If they are too unstable for you you can adjust them to be less so. I just keep mine on max sensitivity and retune if they are unstable out of the holster. I would say the depth is similar unless the MI6 is connected to the detector at which point the MI6 seems deeper. The carrot might be deeper when paired with a compatible detector, I don't know as I don't have one that pairs. Both can be dumbed down to be extremely stable but not as deep. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

I found the MI 6 to be better than the Garrett. So much so that I gave away the Garrett.

I'm still Loving my carrot.
Never had a stability issue.
Bought the Mi6. Besides the battery crapping out.
I just didn't like it.
I am however really liking the Nokts pointer.
Hit and stable.
The Quest Xpointer max is another I really like.
A lot actually.
