How many Gardner explosive bullets do you have now? To be honest, before you posted one I didn't know.
I've found 21 over the years. 13 this year so far. I have all but one of them. I traided one for a breast plate that I saw dug.How many Gardner explosive bullets do you have now? To be honest, before you posted one I didn't know they existed.

Hi buddy. The bullets pictured are two Gardiner explosive & three ring Burton type minie balls. Two are swage base one star base & the rest are typical three ringers. No cleaner bullets are pictured. Thanks for checking out my finds & happy hunting.Depends were you hunt in stafford they never battled. All I have found were drops.

Thanks. I guess they worked. The soldiers deemed them too barbaric for use & abandoned them. Yes the Gardiner explosive bullets have a fuse in the base. They were to explode 1 & 1/4 seconds after firing.Really sweet digguns.
I've always wondered. Just how effective were they ?
Is that a fuse in the base. If so I can see why so few found fired.
Every bullet pictured has been dropped, discarded or dumped. I found one shot bullet in this camp. Are those cleaners the other have been fired not dropped
