More coins with the ACE

Found another 18 pennies in my yard yesterday. I can't believe how many coins I have dug in my own yard. I did make one strange find, a 50 cal. bullet, one from a M2 machine gun. What the heck was that doing in my backyard? Taking the ACE to an old homesite tomorrow. I hope it will be as productive as my yard

:usaflag:Was the 50 cal. a live round or just the casing? That is unusual....I find lots of .22's and 30.06's...I found this old rimfire round at an old homesite. A person in town here who is a gun collector told me he figured it was late 1800's...and maybe a .38..was'nt entirely sure of the caliber.

It was a fired 50 cal bullet, my house is nowhere near a military base so I can't figure out where this bullet came from. I guess someone must have dropped it there. I know its a .50 cal bullet because I was a small arms repairman in the Army and have lots of expirience with ammo and weapons. You never know what you are going to find.

Cool finds!:wiggle:Interesting indeed, to find a Ma Deuce round in the back yard. Probably just a little surplus/trinket type item that somebody had. Dropped by some kid in the backyard years ago. Cool find, though. Thanks for sharing!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

Spmeome could have fired it from miles away or up in the air and gravity done the rest. I find fired rounds in strange places.
