Minelab Safari detector

Is the Minelab Safari better for nugget hunting than single frequency detectors like the X-Terra 70 or the
White's MXT? Will it handle hot ground better than other VLF's? Does it compare to Pulse Induction (which is also multi-frequency) in hot ground?
Will the Safari find small gold? It has located gold nuggets, but how small?
Did they speed up the Safari enough, from the Quatro?
Will the Safari get more depth than other VLF's? As deep as Pulse Induction, with coils of equal size?
How does it compare with White's Spectra V3, which is also multi'frequency?

Never used a X-70. No it won't go as deep as a P.I nothing else will either except another P.I. Yes it will find gold. The Safari wii go as deep as I want to dig.The V-3 has 3 frequiencies Safari has 28. Don't throw that V-3 box away my son's is on its third trip back for bad coil and an upgrade. Hope this helps. I've been told the safari "won't find gold smaller than a shallow ring." Even though it runs as high as 100Khz? What if I put a small DD coil on a Safari? Would it then find small gold, while still going Deeper?

Digger Bob found a dime at 20" in hot ground near lake tahoe with a White's TDI PI. A Garrett Infinium PI in the same ground found a dime at 18".
I wonder if he's tried the safari or the white's spectra v3 for gold?

Andy Sabisch in Lost Treasure Magazine found that the Safari handled "wet, salt-laden black sand with ease". He found targets at 8" deep. Will it work in hot
ground in Arizona?

Will the Safari or Spectra V3 will find small enough gold?

Thanks for the replies. Apparently fbs and bbs detectors aren't sensitive enough to get less than one gram! I guess a smaller DD coil wouldn't help much!? The x-70 and x-705 are more sensitive. I wonder if a small DD coil is available for them at 17.5 Khz, to help handle hot ground? (Like the 5" DD coil on the goldbugpro).

Dave Johnson says big gold is rare and we need t o find 1 to 10 grain nuggets. Wonder if the White's Tdi or Spectra V3 can do this? I should get 1, 5 and 10 grains test nuggets and go to the dealer! Has anyone already tried this test?

White's says they could claim 17 frequencies instead of 3 for the Spectra V3, if they counted harmonics. 17 is the number Minelab claims for bbs detectors. Does Minelab count harmonics for the bbs and fbs detectors?

Since Andy Sabisch only tested the Safari for high tones, I'd still like to see him try it with low tones in hot, mineralized ground.

When I get my new Safari this Monday, I will be testing it on 6 grain nuggets and smaller. I'm sure the
Sunray X-5" coil will do much better on the small gold flakes or nuggets from what I have read.
My Gold Bug will detect a 1 grain flake of Gold.

I don't know about gold but my Safari will pick up small lead shot and plated BBs . I have found several along an old abandoned road used mainly by hunters on foot. Picking up small metal objects sometimes becomes a nuisance with my Safari. Monty

White's TDI found #8 birdshot with the stock 12" coil. What size coil was used to find small shot with the Safari, the stock coil? I wonder how many grains the lead shot is?

Maybe the Safari CAN get 1 to 10 grain gold after all, with a small 5" DD coil?!?

How about that test with 6 grains or less with the X-5 Sunray DD coil? Has that been done yet?

Counting harmonic frequencies sounds like cheating. I would be curious as to what combination of 2nd 3rd or 4th harmonics could add up to an odd number of 17? Maybe they include some heterodyned Intermediate frequencies along with harmonics of the generated frequencies. I guess it satisfies the belief that more is better.
