I never used a Sovereign but the tones on the Explorer II were terrific. Once you were over a silver coin, if you had your settings up in ferrous tones the machine gave a distinct sound. Many called it a warble sort of a bird song. I felt the engineers didn’t even know they had this, they lost that capability with The Etrac

Yeah they should have but I’m sure there’s won’t be a shortage of buyers a friend says $1500.00 -$1800.00!!!

I’m gonna wait a good while to see results. Right now the Deus II is in my sights but I’m still in ‘wait mode’ there too. If they’re equal performers I’ll go Deus due to wireless. I’m a little different since I don’t hunt parks or very many high use areas - except beaches - in search of what others missed. I’m a backcountry hunter (for everything really), so some of the bells and whistles just don’t matter as much. Plus I’ve already modified my equinox to compensate for the issues that are known on that machine, and it does well for my uses. I‘m kind of following the idea that if the gains are marginal, I won’t spend the money, but if it is truly exceptional then I will. And yes I will be watching calabash’s videos on the unit while not giving a flying rats behind whether he was given one or bought it himself…

Same here.
A lot of videos using 1 machine or another.
BUT...
Only a few youtubers that actually compare different machines SIDE BY SIDE.
If they want to throw their machine on the ground, so be it!
I will make popcorn and watch!
Sure beats whats on the television these days.

I miss my CTX but not enough to pay the freight Minelab wanted to repair it. The Legend has not impressed me any more than the NOX did and I still prefer the etrac over either of those. If this machine brings the FBS tones with it I'll be on board for acquiring one.
