Minelab Manticore

I dont believe that is true,
Last I heard, it has 50 tones.
And if 50 tones are not enough, it also has what they call "target trace".
And the quality of the sound seems to be excellent.
If this machine doesn't replicate the FBS machines in any way, 50 tones is useless IMPO. The five tones, in the Equinox is what I came back to, after stubbornly using 50 tones. I came from the Explorers and Etracs and 50 tones was the gospel for silver sounds, That never became reality with the Equinox, so if this new machine isn't like the FBS at all, 5 tones is better.

Just wait for it I seen the video of them getting into the tone adjustment and it’s crazy what it will do
Do you have a link to that video? Only ones I have seen show the numbers with "tones" on the right and no examples of the machne in that setting if it is a setting and not just a label. I too found the Nox 50 tones woefully inferior to the FBS language and promptly moved it down the road. The Legend's 60 tones are a bit better than the Nox but still far short of the descriptiveness of the FBS. I am seriously hoping the M-core is more of an lightweight CTX, sans GPS, than a Nox on steroids with the same lisp.;)

At about 6:00 , something about , 1-Region All tones , each VDI has it's own tone(y)
(y)
About the 30:00 mark on the first video is a good look at the tone settings
Thanks

2 centimeters, that sounds possible for extra depth. Polyphonic audio sounds interesting. Ill stick with my eq 600 though, until it gives out. Looks like a nice machine, not a big leap in capabilities though. Not faulting minelab, just not much more they can do with the tech. When 50 percent more power gets you a tiny bit more depth you are way into diminishing returns.

The ability to hear two tones for mixed targets should really unmask targets next to iron. I’ve got the field to test it, where I pulled my gold coin, and three small old (1820s) silvers from. It is blanketed with iron from WW2 bombs

Well, I just saw an advertisement that indicates the Duck Dynasty crowd is coming out with a mini-series on metal detecting. There goes the neighborhood, they will only show good fines with an occasional piece of junk luring a lot of folks into the sport (hobby) by giving them the impression that there is a lot of treasure out there. All you have to do is get a detector and start swinging. Hopefully they will show the reality of detecting and emphasize the ethics of responsible detecting. I noticed they are brand specific, so someone is using a great marketing technique to sell products to a hobbyist that is becoming a sport with diminished returns. Just my 2 cents for the day.
