Minelab Equinox 700 / 900

My 900 came this morning. I was pleasantly surprised at just how much has changed from the 800 physically. Every little nitpick and gripe I had about the 800 has been addressed and in big ways. The shafts, arm rest, grip, are ON POINT. Mine came with the battery really low so it is charging now; although I am not expecting any changes between it and the 800 performance wise. If your 600 or 800 is out of warranty or you don't want to wait for the Manticore...the 900 is worth every penny just for the physical improvements IMO.

Lol... Well you know I live by the philosophy.... It's always easier to get forgiveness than permission . I found enough gold and silver with my 800 to pay for the 900 and the Manticore. I have a very understanding wife as long as I don't take funds out of the household budget to pay for my toys LOL

I notice on some sites the Equinox 900 is under $1000. Just an observation.
Hoping the 700 has the same performance in multi mode.

I just got mine today as well Daniel. This thing is made the way the Equinox should have been made from the beginning. It is solid as a rock and has a great feel to it. I will confirm that your standard Bluetooth devices or your WM 08 will not connect to this machine. I'm not a big fan of headphones, but I will say that the the phones that came with the 900 sound much better than the old ml-80s. The headphones pair lightning quick and they feel pretty good. Same here I've found more than enough to buy my new Manticore when who knows when they become available??? I have no idea why they did not make the coils fit both detectors 900 and the Manticore.

It's a money making scheme Mark kus, but, according to Minelab it's the different Multi-IQ platforms each machine is using.

I think you will like the 100 vdi scale as well, I am liking it on the Manticore.

The expanded vdi scale should relate to a more informed identification of target, prior to digging.
These new machines are all so tempting!

I imagine it has something to do with the Manticores "twice the power"...

The dirt around here is highly mineralized and VDIs usually aren't accurate on any ID machine. Expanding the range is no doubt going to help some people that didn't like so many targets falling within the same range but I usually just dig everything non iron. I'm more than happy with all the hardware and physical upgrades.

From what I'm seeing and hearing the new quality upgrades are phenomenal. Then on top of that you have the expanded VDI, just more icing on the cake. I have asked several for there opinion on buying a new 700, 900 or Legend. Not one has said the Legend.

Great to hear your happy mine will be here any day I've decided not waiting for the Manticore to me the extra money really does not seem worth it IMHO.
and selling my nox now while I can still get decent money for it.
