Hi Everyone
Mike and i went detecting at a old fairground on Saturday August 11th,The coins are getting harder to come by at this place, we both slowed down to a crawl and it paid off, we both dug some nice silver finds and Mike had a outstanding afternoon. Thanks for watching and best of luck on your next hunt. Happy Hunting ! Dave

Nice, that is so cool to see silver come out , those minlabs are working for you .

Nice hunt!

This is the aftermath of Michigan Metaldetecting's Dave aka Crunch707 and his buddy Mike at an old fairgrounds that is now a park.
It has been too dry to dig plugs in the park but that didn't stop these noobs from potentially ruining metal detecting in Ann Arbor.
They visited on Saturday Aug 11, 2012 and I made the video on Aug 15, 2012. The damage looks much worse in person.
The reason I show the school after each plug is to prove that I am at the same location in their video.

They didn't go the extra step to blend it in, didn't use a cloth and no common sense when the ground is too dry.....not good, not good at all. Hope the grounds keeper is on vacation.

I agree it is to dry to dig in any well cared for location, but looked to me that they did their best to cover their holes. Here there is never any such thing as cutting plugs. This is the only digger I can use even though I do own some good plug cutting tools that do work well in other areas.

I have also used this one but it is very sloppy.

I guess the important thing is to be considerate of other persons property as possible. I have several old rent houses to hunt right now but it is too dry to hunt without leaving damage, so I am waiting.

You lost me with the whole one minute of introductions. Am I the only person who can't hunt all day every day because I have a family to support?

That AIN'T COOL AT ALL! Thank you Ims for exposing the aftermath of what these guys did. And just think, that's just the site you know about. I hope your other locations aren't being violated like that.

Not very professional . . considering how many digs these guys have under their belts.

Maybe wait until it rains? Hello?

I posted a thread about this in the Views forum so if anybody wants to further talk about destructive digging like this that's probably the forum Findmall wants it in.

PLEASE READ THIS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON THIS POSTING

Hello everyone.
This is Mike, one of the guys being wrongfully accused in this video.
I have been a avid metal detectorist for over 25 years and I have NEVER left a field in this condition in all my years of detecting. (NO INS, I'm not a Noobe)
After watching 4 guys on You-tube detect at this very park the week before, Dave and I decided to give it a try. The person in this forun under username : INS ( the accuser) who posted these pics I suspect is one of those 4 guys. I believe he is mad because we found their HOT SPOT and is now trying to make us look bad.
On the 11Th when Dave and I were at this park we witnessed a man and woman metal detecting and using a full size shovel dig holes at this park. They were from out of state visiting. We had talked to them. We were using Lesche diggers not shovels. You can clearly see them in OUR video. The ground was sandy and the Lesche easily fanned the ground to blend our holes. If you look at the above pics you can see that some of these holes could clearly have been made with a shovel. I suspect some of these holes were theirs. I don't dig round holes. Dave and I both make a U shaped flap and fold it back so it easily falls back into place. Every experienced detectorist all know this trick.
This is a well known heavily hunted park and alot of other people hunt there too. INS shot his video on the 15Th. ANYONE ELSE could of easily detected there causing the damage in that amount of time. In fact, we returned three days later for a few hours and so did one of the 4 guys from the You-tube video we watched and he didn't say anything to us about any wrong doing. We all detected together for a few ours and had a good time. We did see some bad holes at this time. Now this INS person has decided to pin it on us because we are the only other people he knew were there from our video.
If any of you have ever been wrongfully accused of something you didn't do, you can imagine and understand how we must be feeling. How dare this INS individual make these accusations against us. Dave and I are absolutely furious and we are considering taking legal action against this INS person for posting this slander in this public forum.
The next time INS you decide to post something like this, you better dam BE SURE you get your facts straight and not just assume it was us you moron. You messed with the wrong people.

Sorry for the long explanation everyone.
Thanks for listening. HH
Mike.

Hi Everyone

This is Dave , one of the guys being wrongfully accused in this video.

I have been Metal Detecting for over 17 years now, and would never jeopardize this hobby in anyway.

After watching FOUR guys on You-tube detect at this park the week before, Mike and I decided to try it out.

We noticed right away other detectorist have been detecting this park a lot, and there were some bad holes then,

Meaning Round Circle Holes witch clearly were not done by Mike or Myself, And I'm the first person that cringes at this type,

Of Digging. We dig a U shape plug, retrieve the target and put in back in place, we returned to this park for a second hunt and

There was two detectorist all ready hunting here at that time, and they were using a full size shovel, So ISM get your facts straight,

Before you start accusing us, what you did to us is Slander. If you Don;t remove that video from your You-tube Channel,

we have no choice, but to take legal action against you.

Thanks for your time everyone.

Dave

Dave,
I have visited this park many times in the past and never saw any evidence of detecting.
After seeing your video here, I decided to go to the park and see what kind of damage was left behind.
You can only imagine how Irate I was when I saw the mess.
The footprints on the plugs were fresh and so was the dirt piles left outside of the plugs.
There are also only about 12 plugs in the area that is shown in your video.
I apologize if I was wrong. I can't prove it was you and its only my word against the both of you.

So I will remove the video as requested.
