Me and My Gear...Fresh Water Only.

Well! We all had a lot of fun with this one. I've surely enjoyed folks looking at the post and reading their comments. Appears as if a lot of the humor attached to we detectors folks comes out of the same kettle. I sense that just about any combination of us who have never met before could get together and it'd be like old friends. HH to all...jim

Great pics!!! Just a few more toys than the rest of us!! BUT I am sure you find use for all of them. Anything to get the gold!!!!

I don't see the magnet they used to advertize in the back of comic books when we were kids though. The Ad said so powerful it could pick up gold!!!!

You must have that secret weapon hidden!!!!

Grumpster,
You only need one more thing to complete that freshwater outfit! A 3" x 18" water proof wide scan coil for the Tigers! By the way you actually look "grumpier" then I thought you would! (kidding)

About what I had back in the early 80's....LOL
Only thing your missing is a suction dredge.----------but instead of suctioning the bottom, use the exhaust side of the jet tube as
a powerful underwater hose. You'll be amazed how fast you can blow out a big hole in the lake bottom as well as move big rocks...

Great pictures. Thank you for posting them.

Great stuff! Something similar in my dreams! What about nitrogen accumulation in 3 hours of hookah diving? I've never used a hookah and I know that using a ordinary air tank this could be a problem if you stay under for a long time.

I won't go deeper than 20'. Probably not much there anyway unless there is a swim platform or a diving board. Most often I can stand up where I dive. It's just an easier way to grid search and see what you are digging for. In a rocky lake, sometimes you have to move individual rocks to work your way down to a signal. At 20' there are no decompression limits. I am an old diver. Not an old bold diver. jim

wow grumpy that is some sweet toys. one day i will contact you. i have friends in renton wa and stepdaughters in california. maybe detect for a few hrs one day. and congrats on all the nice stuff..

Storage is no problem! I just put them in the wife's half of the garage.:bouncy: jim

Hey, what part of SW Washington are you in? I lived in Toutle/Castle Rock for several years. I also lived in South East Alaska, so sorry, I'm going to call you on the Exxon Valdes and not let you claim it for the entire North West. One hell of a nice set up you got for yourself, I know lots of metal detector companies try to say this is a hobby that pays for itself, but I have a feeling thats going to take a while for you, haha. Good luck and hope you are getting some good finds.

I am about an hour towards the ocean from Castle Rock. Live in a little town that used to be a lumber town...Raymond. Weyerhauser is selling it's land, most of the mills have closed, and the one still open here is only running one shift and is making 2X4s, mainly for Home Depot.

I don't just use the boat for detecting. We crab and fish out of that boat. It also allows us access to some good Oyster and clam beds, that are public, not open to folks without a boat. There are places on lakes that are good bets for detecting that need a boat to get access. I did the Mercer Island Tennis club on Lake Washington very early one morning. Pretty ritzy place. Haven't hit the Seattle Tennis Club yet. No boat. You don't get to em to metal detect. jim

I know where Raymond is, passed through it a couple of times. I bet there are some really good places there on Lake Washington and Lake Union to go detecting. You might try right out in from of Husky Stadium or along the Monte Lake Cut, I know a lot of big money people tie there boats up there at different times of the year for events, I'm sure plenty of stuff has been dropped overboard.
