Yes and if you "twitch" them many will turn into a two-way signal especially corroded coins.

I do because it could be a coin on its side. Plus it gives good practice.

If they repeat, sure do.. They can be coins on a tilt, but often coins
at the depth limits of the machine will do the same thing.

If it beeps in one direction as a coin, and then nothing the other way, I usually step to the other side of it and scan it again. If its a coin it will still give a signal but if it stops, its usually a pull tab.
