Maybe I should try a visual id meter?

Hi Waterbird, the better of the two for nuggets in Gold country would
be the LST, hands down. A little heavier than the Vaq. but more
designed for Gold hunting than Tesoro's other models.
Online dealers offer it at discount off msr.

My dig from the penny park, yesterday, changed quite a bit, from the first day.
Still all clad surface targets, but only half the number of memorials, and double the number of quarters, and dimes.
So, things are improving.
I did switch to the CS coil to speed things up for the surface sweep.

The turf was laid down about two years ago, so I won't be able to dig anything deep.
Especially right in front of the city fathers!

The nice thing about digging everything-especially on tot lots and schools-the next trip should be very nice and most of your competition will probably still notch or foil disc the grounds because of past hunts and probably leave the newer rings, etc. I did this at several of my favorite schools and on subsequent trips only found just a handful of junk while breezing over the grounds in iron disc.
