Maximum depth with 11 & 6 inches search coils

Didnt someone post a chart with air tests on some targets between the 6 and 11??? I saw it somewhere.

I've been running Minelab FBS since around 2002. I may not be an expert but I have several thousand hours on them, from the Explorer XS, Ex2, eTrac, up to the CTX and have had the Nox since spring of this year. My experience doesn't have any evidence to support the claim that the FBS machines go deeper in ground. I know what some say and what they claim. I'm just saying my experience does not lead me to that conclusion. My conclusion with FBS machines is that they detect close to what the coil size is. Usually a bit less. In my mineralized soil, the depth is always less. At the beach in wet sand, I've dug coins 11 inches deep with the CTX. In my soil at home, the same machine will not even break the threshold on a silver quarter at 8 inches. In the air, it gets about 12.5 inches on a quarter.

Daniel....... ive got a lot of hours on the FBS as well....... and id agree with your conclusions. Thou on the beach i could get more depth here in Fl. I prefered the Sov near the water thou. It had better separation in the lower digits and the mineral falsing on weak signals on the Exp were hard to tell from targets. The CTX has a tendency to compensate for the soil...... and you just dont realize you lost some depth as it does.
